Good morning everyone,

Things are smoothing out this morning.  All polls are open and most inspectors reported lines at the time the polls opened.

11:00 AM UPDATE!

As of 11:15 a.m., we've had 15,611 Election Day voters in Monroe County.  I'd like to give a shout out to those polling sites who've voted more than 600 people since the polls opened at 6:00 a.m.  Those locations include Eastview Church of the Nazarene, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Grandview Elementary School, Highland Park Elementary School, Jackson Creek Middle School, Summit Elementary School and university Elementary School.  Of course, St. John's Catholic Church blows everyone out the water having voted more than 1,100 voters since the polls opened.

We're are nearly halfway through the polling hours and would be excited to have as many voters as can make it to the polls before 6:00 p.m.

NOON UPDATE!

Hi all!

We are halfway through...and I'm excited about our voter turnout today.

As of noon, we've had 17,484 voters.  This represents nearly 40% of everyone who has voted thus far (early and Election Day voting).

What an exciting problem to have.

As of 1:30 p.m., we had 20,440 voters to come through the lines at our polling location.

4:00 PM UPDATE!

Hi all,

Does anybody else see daylight (well...daylight savings anyway)?

As of 4:15 p.m., Monroe County has had 25,679 Election Day voters.

Less than two hours until the polls close.  Call your friends and family.  I'm loving the record turnout.
